1). Discuss the idea of Appeal to Emotion. There are different aspects of Appeal to Emotion; which type of Appeal to Emotion strikes you and why?
The appeal of emotion appeals to me through many different outlets and I was able to learn more about it in this weeks reading. Its when you believe in something and you agree with a certain type of argument because of the way you feel about something. The many different types of appeal are based the appeal to pity, the appeal to fear and finally the appeal to spite. In my case I think I reflect more to the appeal to fear. I normally let fear take over my life. I think it is interesting that mainly politicians and advertisers use this appeal since I wouldn’t think they would want to strike fear in the people there communicating with. But it also brings up many different interesting aspect to this point that it can help with the over all manipulation.
I really was interested in your post since i decided to talk about the appeal to fear also. It was nice how you really opened up personally by stating, “I normally let fear take over my life.” It attracted me more to your post and got me real interested. You started off well by defining both appeal to emotion and the fear aspect of it following after. I thought it was well put that you brought up that mostly advertisers and politicians use this appeal because that is very true. Your conclusion was good since we really do use are emotions on a daily basis without even knowing.
