Week 10: Question 1

1). What have you learned in this class over the course of the semester?  Be specific.

One of the most important things that I learned in this class this summer would have to be that I learned to work with others. This is something that has always been challenging to me. I’m such a control freak and I always want to be the one who is doing everything on my own and within this course I was not able to do so. That was something hard for me to let go of. But with the group papers I was able to let go (since I had to) and relay on others. I think that is important skill to know since I’m getting into my major classes and I’m most likely going to have to do group work. It has been a hardship to let go but in the long run I know it is has helped me to develop better critical thinking skills as well as working along side with others.

  1. I agree, I think that it is an important skill to know when you're working with other. I understand where you're coming from since I'm a control freak. I like things my way and it's so difficult to go around and do what other want. It's so much harder when you don't get to meet your group face to face because you're unable to suggest or let them know right in front of you, instead you have to send out emails and wait for a response. But, it's good to work on that skill since it will be really useful in the future. Good luck studying for your finals!

  2. Hello there! Nice post. After reading your post, I just realized that even I’m a control freak, and like working on my own. You’re right that one has to learn to depend on others as well. It is a part of our learning process. Critical thinking is not only about us as individuals but about the others as well and it teaches us how to communicate well with others. So, I think that the group work wasn’t that bad after all. However, I think that two essays was a lot of work. But overall, the entire class was fun and interesting.
